1991 - Trophy for best interpretation of Byzantine music at the Festival in Karditsa (Greece)
May 1992 – prize obtained at the first edition of the Choral Festival „Transylvanian Echoes” in Zalău
June 1993 – Special Prize of the jury awarded at the school contest „Bucharest ’93
July 1996 - First Prize in the “Children Choirs” section at the International Music Festival in Cantonigros (Spain) and the Public’s Prize
1998 - First Prize at the Choral Contest and Festival in Kishinev, Rep. of Moldova; Second Prize (no First Prize awarded) at the Choral Contest in Noyon (France) and The Special Prize of the Jury for the compulsory work
1999 - Second Prize at the Choral Contest in Bydgoszcz (Poland)
In 1995 and 2000, at its fifth and tenth anniversary, the choir and its conductor, Mr. Jean Lupu were awarded special diplomas on behalf of the National Romanian Composers’ Association and of the National Choral Association, as well as one of the highest Orthodox distinctions on behalf of Teoctist, Head of the Romanian Orthodox Church.
It is also worth mentioning the fact that the “Symbol” choir was twice in a row (2001, 2002) included on the list of nominees for the Romanian Music Awards, for its first 2 CD’s, along with other famous Romanian artists and musicians such as Ion and Mădălin Voicu, Dan Iordăchescu and the “Madrigal” Choir
