The “Symbol” Choir was founded on September 18th 1990 by professor Jean Lupu under the high patronage and with the blessing of Teoctist, the Head of the Romanian Orthodox Church. Professor Jean Lupu, the founder of the choir, has graduated the Orthodox Theological Seminar in Craiova, the Radu Greceanu high school in Slatina and later the National Music Academy in Timisoara and Bucharest. more

MISSION
The main objectives of the choir are:
- to spread worldwide both non-religious and religious choral works and especially the national ones which have been seriously neglected in the communist era;
- to educate the public in the spirit of good quality music
